A United Airlines flight that was scheduled to land in Texas after taking off from Canada went into chaos on Friday after 30 passengers fell ill during the flight.
The passengers were said to have been experiencing flu-like symptoms all of a sudden and it was later revealed that all those experiencing symptoms had just taken a cruise before their flight.
They were all a part of a giant travel group featuring 75 people on a holiday cruise. Meanwhile, the flight which happened to be a Boeing 737 Max took off from Vancouver and ended up landing at the Bush International Airport in Houston. This is where they met a number of emergency responders.
At about 6:20 pm in the evening, more reports spoke about how the Houston Fire Department was called to the scene for immediate evacuation and examination of the patients. One of those ill actually required immediate emergency medical attention.
Officials from the fire department noted how the passengers exhibited symptoms linked to the cruise and spoke about nausea.
The United Airlines rep spoke about the incident and remarked how several flyers were sick on that cruise and how the infection may have spread. These people then boarded the flight, leading to the situation that ensued shortly later.
As per the reps from the airline, the plane happened to be a Boeing 737 MAX 8 and there were a total of 163 passengers and six crew members on that flight. More investigations into the matter are now taking place as we speak.
