At least three women have been killed while two men were left fighting for life and dozens more were injured following the most horrific crash of them all in the North of Queensland.
According to reports from local media outlets, a Greyhound bus did collide with a car that happened to be towing the caravan along the Bruce Highway near the Wilson Creek Rest Area.
Some 33 people traveling between Bowen and Townsville were on the inter-city Greyhound bus. Two of those were in the vehicle that was leading the caravan.
Sources explained how the force of that crash was so mighty that it ended up leaving the bus in a resting state while others suffered from minor injuries.
Meanwhile, another triage system was set up due to the many victims involved. Moreover, one Government Air rescue helicopter was seen while another from the RACQ started to embark on the rescue services sent to that scene.
Another three Royal Flying Doctor Service aircraft happened to be on standby during that time.
Six of those injured were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment while one had to be flown by air due to the serious nature of his injuries.
Some remain in critical conditions at this moment in time.
